The first topic that I chose for this assignment was the use of semicolons. I find that I use semicolons often within my writing, the semicolons can be useful when used properly, but often they can be misused by the writer. Semicolons take a long sentence and divide it properly and effectively, adding to the effectiveness of the sentence as a whole.

The second topic that I chose for this assignment was the use of a period. The period goes hand in hand with the semicolon as an effective means of separating a long run on sentence. I believe that I use the period effectively in my writing, however a little clarity was helpful on this topic.

I also chose to read about commas as I have a bad habit of overusing them. I believe that a comma has stylistic capabilities, however if it is used to frequently it can ruin the reading.

The final topic I chose was avoiding long sentence. I definitely have a habit of maintaining long sentences while writing without an effective period. In order to repair this, I researched into it and found this website.
